Plans to bring riverboat gaming to the Missouri River are being made by Three
Currently negotiations are being held with the state and the tribes. The current
gaming compact is also set to expire this year. The compact was originally
signed in 1992. Part of the negotiations will be to also renew the compact.
Another part will be to for approval to expand tribal gaming on Fort Berthold's
Three Affiliated Tribes are developing plans for a new casino riverboat that
would be located on Lake Sakakawea. The boat would sail from the 4 Bears Casino
to Charging Eagle Bay. The boat would also stop at recreation areas to pick up
passengers along the route.
It is estimated that the new compact will be approved in at least a month.
