The Lago Resort & Casino is involved in another court battle.
New York State Gaming Commission approved the casino project. Members of the
Oneida Indian Nation and Casino Free Tyre have filed the lawsuit. They believe
that the commission was unfair in the selection process over the gaming license.
In addition, they also believe that the location board ignored the mandatory
analysis that was established under te Gaming Act. Members of the board were to
review the qualitative analysis that is required. Instead the tribe claims that
the board did a qualitative review. They also claim that projects that were
submitted were rejected over certain matters. However the same matters did not
apply to the Lago casino.
In previous lawsuits against the Lago Resort & Casino, the judge has sided with
the Lago developer
