A lawsuit was filed by Seneca County residents to stop the Finger Lakes casino
project. However, the casino developers is planning on fighting back.
The lawsuit was filed this week. Lago Resort and Casino believes that the case
will not go anywhere.
Allegedly, the environmental impact report for the casino was not done properly
and Tyre town officials did not do enough to obtain the proper information.
Over the summer, construction was stopped at the casino when the appeals court
was involved. At that time the court sided with the group that the casino
approval process was flawed. Plans were then re-approved and construction
continued.
Four casinos have been approved for Upstate New York. One of them is Lago Resort
and Casino.
