A ribbon cutting ceremony for Central New York's newest casino is scheduled for
next month.
The 67,000 square foot Yellow Brick Road Casino is owned by the Oneida Indian
Nation. It cost $20 million to build. June 2 is the day the casino will open.
Over 400 slot machines will be in operation. The casino also will offer a keno
lounge, restaurants and lounges, a general store. As well as a bingo hall that
has 500 seats.
The casino is located on tribal land in Chittenango. The theme for the casino
was inspired from the birth place of author L. Frank Baum who wrote "The
Wonderful Wizard of Oz."
Plans for the tribal owned casino were announced last year after the state
awarded three non Indian casino licenses.
