The Mohawk Harbor development and Rivers Casino is a step closer. The Schenectady City Council granted permission on Monday to change the zoning code for the proposed project.
The property where the development will take place is the former Alco site, which consists of 60 acres.
The council approved the proposed recommendations. The property will be allowed to have signage of 19,000 square feet. Buildings may have a height of 110 feet. Pylons may also be no more than 80 feet tall.
The Rivers Casino will cost $300 million to complete.
