Work crews for one of the newly approved upstate casinos have started preparing the land.
On Wednesday, the future home of the $1.1 billion Montreign Resort Casino had trees cleared. The casino will be located in Thompson. 75 miles from New York City in the Catskills mountains.
The casino will be built on the previous Concord resort.
In December the casino was approved by the state gaming board. However, the license will not be granted until later this year. Construction can not proceed until the license has been given.
