Shortly after the New York state panel awarded three gaming licenses for upstate New York, the Oneida Indian Nation announced plans for their new, Yellow Brick Road Casino.

The casino will be built in Chittenango, New York. The property is located on tribal land. It will have a "Wizard of Oz" theme. It will be built in the same village birth place of the book's author, L. Frank Baum.

The Oneida Indian Nation also owns Turning Stone Casino. The Yellow Brick Road Casino will be a smaller gaming facility.

The casino will be open for gaming 24 hours daily. There will be 430 slot machines in operation. In addition to the bingo hall with 500 seats. Plans also include a country western bar and two restaurants. Plus a general store.

The project will cost $20 million to complete.

Many construction jobs will be created to complete the casino. When open, 250 permanent jobs will also be created.

The Yellow Brick Road Casino is scheduled to open in the spring of next year.
