Turning Stone Resort Casino is planning an expansion that would include a 60 store shopping center.

The resort casino is owned by the Oneida Indian Nation.

A list of potential tenants has not been released. However, the center will be focused on luxury outlet stores.

It will be located off Route 365. Behind the events center near the main entrance for the casino.

Ground breaking is scheduled for spring 2015.

When completed, 1,100 new jobs will have been created by the project. Currently there are 4,500 people employed by the Oneida Nation. This makes them the area's largest employer.

The shopping center will compliment the entertainment complex, Exit 33. A 250,000 square foot enclosed entertainment venue. The center has three clubs. There are plans to add a movie theater, a bowling ally, and high end restaurants. Construction is due to be complete in 2016.

A representative for the tribe announced that the new shopping center and entertainment venue will offer visitors a comprehensive shopping and entertainment experience.

New York is set to release casino licenses that will not be operated on tribal land. The Oneida tribe is working towards other sources of income other than casino gaming. This is a trend that can been seen with other tribes as well.
