New York racinos are allowed to extend their operation hours. The law changing the hours was signed by Gov. Cuomo.
The measure was unopposed in both state houses.
The racinos can now operate from 6AM to 4AM. The expanded hours is seen as a way to allow for more casino visitors.
There is a 60 waiting period before the new hours can go in to effect. This is per New York state law.
In addition, free play has also been increased at gaming halls to 15 percent. Originally the limit was 10 percent.
Currently there are 9 racinos in operation.
