On Wednesday the New Windsor Town Board met. The board gave approval for 140 acres at Stewart International Airport to be zoned for a casino. The approval took place after a public hearing regarding the zoning.
Greenetrack, a company from Alabama, has proposed the development of a casino at International Boulevard and Breunig Road. The approval from the New Windsor Town Board was needed for the developer to proceed.
If the casino is developed, additional plans call for seven new restaurants to be built as well.
The proposed casino still needs to secure one of the available gaming licenses.
