An announcement came today that the Turning Stone Casino will soon be offering something new. Slot machine gaming that will pay out in cash.
The Oneida Indian Nation that owns the casino will be replacing their 2,000 slot machines with the cash machines. A percentage of the machines will be part of a national network that will also join in on progressive jackpots. Those jackpots could potentially be worth millions in payouts.
The Turning Stone Casino opened 20 years ago. From that time, players would place money on magnetic cards that would be used to wager on the slot machines. The new gaming machines will use dollar bills instead of the cards. This will save time for visitors since they will no longer need to wait in line at the casino to add money onto their cards.
The new slot machines will cost $15 million. Visitors to the casino will start to see the new machines in operation beginning March 4.
