Last week a landmark agreement happened between the Oneida Nation and the New York State Liquor Authority. Visitors to the Turning Stone Resort Casino will now be able to purchase and drink alcoholic beverages any time from almost anywhere on the property. The liquor license was granted to CD Food and Beverage. They are a private catering company. Tax revenue from the sales will go to Albany.

For this to happen, both the Oneida Nation and New York State had to come to an agreement. This took several months. The terms had to be both agreeable to both state interests and the Oneida's sovereignty.

$900,000 is expected to be collected yearly in hotel taxes. This money will go to the Oneida County and is twice what it currently collects.

With the current deal Turning Stone will lease 1,200 from CD Food and Beverage. CD will be the company serving the alcohol at the resort's bars, restaurants, and golf courses. Turning Stone management will remain in control of menus and pricing.

A 10 % rent fee of gross sales and set administrative and maintaince fees will be paid by CD. The company will be subject to regulations and state laws. CD is expecting to have the liquor license in the next few weeks.

Return to New York Casinos.
