This morning, Governor Chris Christie granted permission for Atlantic City
casinos to reopen.
The casinos in Atlantic City are starting to reopen after hurricane Sandy forced
them to close. This was the second time in two years that the casinos had to
close due to extreme weather conditions.
One of the first to reopen for business was the Golden Nugget Casino. Additional
casinos are scheduled to open this afternoon. However, due to damages from the
storm, it is uncertain when all of the casinos will be reopened.
Plans for reopenings are individually approved by the state.
