August brought a decline in revenue at Mississippi casinos.
$175 million was earned at the casinos last month. That was 2% lower than August
the previous year.
Casinos near the river reported a 9% loss from the previous year. The total
amount reported was $81 million. However, casinos along the coast had a 5%
increase in revenue in comparison to a year ago. Coastal casinos reported
earnings of $94.1 million.
On September 15, the Margaritavile Casino and Restaurant in Biloxi closed.
August was the last full month the casino was open.
