A casino project to be built on the Fort Peck Reservation will be receiving investment money from a Minnesota Indian tribe. The tribe is the owner of the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel.
The Fort Peck Tribes are planning on developing a casino that will cost $34 million. The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community will be loaning them $29 million.
The casino will be located on the eastern corner of the reservation off Highway 2.
When completed the casino will operate 400 gaming machines. There will be a hotel with 75 guest rooms. A buffet that has seating for 150 people. As well as an event center.
Construction on the Buffalo Rivers Casino and Lodge is scheduled to begin June 15.
