Of the three ballots that were voted on only one was approved by the Keweenaw
Bay Indian Community. The votes were made on Saturday and have to do with the
Marquette and Baraga casinos.
The proposal that was approved will allow for the remodel of both casinos. The
projects will not exceed $40 million. Baraga's Ojibwa Casino will receive $6.5
million. Marquette's Ojibwa II Casino will receive $33.5 million.
Voters approved the measure 168 to 107.
