In May the Mackinaw City's first casino is expected to open. The casino will be
located on land owned by the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians.
Class II gaming will be offered by the casino. There will be bingo formatted
slot machines and pull tabs. This will be the only Class II gaming facility in
the state.
The location is where the Thunder Falls Water Pak used to be. The park closed in
2012.
Construction stated last week on the new 5,000 square foot casino facility. A RV
park is planned to be added to the location in 2017.
The casino will be a satellite location for the tribe's original location 50
miles away in Petoskey, the Odawa Casino.
