Detroit's Greektown Casino is looking to upgrade the roads near the property. The changes would make accessibility easier for guests to arrive at the casino. However the city's financial down turn has made it difficult for the casino to obtain funding for the project.
Dan Gilbert is the owner of several casinos, including the Greektown. He will be funding the $1.25 million project.
The plan calls for the Lafayette Street exit ramp off of the southbound I-375 to be widened. The improvements will help with traffic congestion around the casino, and surrounding neighborhood. As well as safety.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will need to approve any plans for the road construction before the project can begin.
