Bay Mills Casino Vanderbilt will have a ruling made by the Supreme Court about the federal judge's ruling to close it.
An appeal was given by state officials to the court on Monday. They stated that the casino is not located on tribal land. The reservation for the Bay Mills Indian Community is 125 miles north for the casino that they own.
A federal judge gave an order to close the casino in 2011. It had opened in 2010.
Arguments in the Supreme Court are due to happen in fall.
