The Four Winds Casino Resort was recently voted favorite in a recent contest.
2,758 votes were cast for the Four Winds. This was the most votes in the
contest's history for a single business. The casino resort took first place in
seven of the categories. The winning categories are: Best Hotel, Best Casino,
Best Casino Slots, Best Casino Table Games, Best Casino Poker, Best Casino
Dining, and Best Place for a Bachelor/Bachelorette Party.
The 250,000 square foot casino resort is on 700 acres and opened three years ago
and has become a destination place in Southwest Michigan. The owners are the
federally recognized tribe, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. They have
over 3,000 members enrolled.
The casino has 3,000 gaming machines. Slot machines vary from penny to $100.
They are also part of the 16-state Native American progressive gaming network.
When someone plays a machine anywhere in the networked system, the jackpot grows
until it is won. The Four Winds also has 100 gaming tables. They operate games
such as, Blackjack, Craps, Poker, and Roulette.
The Four Winds hosts several restaurants. Patrons of the casino resort can enjoy
fine dining at the Copper Rock Steakhouse. Or enjoy the high energy buffet. The
Silver Creek Bistro which serves smaller meals, Starbucks coffee, and
European-style pastries. Also available is the Willobrook Café, Timbers Fast
Food and Deli, and Grab ‘N' Go.
The hotel offers 98 luxury suites and 165 guest rooms. Each room was designed
with a pillow top mattress, granite counter top, flat screen TV, leather wrapped
head boards, free internet, and coffee makers with Starbucks coffee. The suites
have additional features such as wet bar, refrigerator, microwave, walk in
shower, and whirlpool jets.
Currently the casino resort has 1,700 employees that work full and part time.
