Competition from the casino project being developed by the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe is not worrying casino mogul Steve Wynn.

On Tuesday Wynn made a visit to Massachusetts. This was during the same time state regulators for the gaming industry were hearing plans for the Mashpee Wampanoag's casino.

Wynn is interested in building a $1.7 billion casino near Boston on the Everett waterfront. As of now, the proposed casino name will be the Wynn Boston Harbor. He was in the state to meet with lawmakers and local mayors.

Legal challenges have prevented the ground breaking to take place. The environmental permit is being challenged by the city of Somerville.

The casino was scheduled to break ground this spring.
