Plainridge Park casino is now open. This is the first casino in the state. It is located in Plainville.

It cost $250 million to complete. There are 1,250 slot machines and electronic gaming machines in operation at the 44,000 square foot gaming facility.

Doug Flutie's Sports Pub is one of the dining options available to guests. Flutie played for the New England Patriots. He was also a quarterback from Boston College and has been awarded the Heisman Trophy. Flutie attended the opening ceremony for the casino.

The casino is located at the Plainridge Race Track. The track has live harness racing.

Two other casinos are planned to open in the future. MGM Resorts International is developing a casino in Springfield for $800 million. Wynn Resorts Ltd is also building a casino near Boston for $1.7 billion.
