The Mohegan Sun are preparing for a meeting to decide which casino management companies will receive gaming licenses.

On Wednesday, three companies are scheduled to meet with the commission. They are the Mohegan Sun, MGM Resorts International, and Wynn Resorts. Each company has been given 90 minutes to give their presentation.

There is one casino license available for western Massachusetts. MGM Resorts International is proposing their plan to build a casino in downtown Springfield.

There is also one eastern Massachusetts casino license. Wynn Resorts are proposing their casino project to be built in Everett. While Revere is where Mohegan Sun would propose to build their casino. However, voters still need to approve the gaming referendum. That vote will take place on February 25.

It is expected to announce the winner of the gaming licenses in May.
