A new record was made in April from Maryland casino revenue. The total was $103.9 million.
The report was released on Thursday by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. This is the new highest amount earned by the casinos. Previously the highest record was reached in July 2015. That amount was $99 million.
The state's Education Trust Fund will receive $36 million from the casinos. The horse racing industry will receive close to $5 million. Local impact grants will receive $3.5 million.
In comparison to April of 2015, there was an increase of 17 percent. That is close to $14.9 million.
There are five casinos in Maryland.
