122 game tables are now in operation at Maryland Live! Casino in Anne Arundel
County. The additional gaming began on Thursday.
The casino removed nearly 10 percent of its slot machines to make room for the
50 new tables. Guests will be able to enjoy a variety of new games. This
includes Blackjack, Craps, and Roulette. There is also a poker room that covers
2 floors.
Revenue earnings for the casino reported $44.6 million. This is believed to be
partly related to the new 24 hour daily operating schedule. It is estimated that
the addition of table games to the casino will continue to provide increasing
revenues.
As of now there are no other casinos in the area that operate table games.
Maryland Live! is using this to their advantage to bring in new guests. However,
there are three new casinos that are scheduled to open in the next few years.
One of them as early as 2014 in Baltimore. That casino will be operated by
Caesars Entertainment and consist of at least 80 gaming tables.
Maryland Live! Casino reported earning 77 percent of the state's gaming revenue
in March.
