A report was recently released that stated additional casinos in Maine could do
The state Legislature ordered the study to be conducted. The report was released
on August 30th. The success of additional casinos would be based on their
location and their size.
One ideal location would be near Interstate 95 and in the southern part of the
state. Northern Maine could also sustain a smaller casino. The ideal location
would be close to the Canadian border. In either Aroostook or Washington county.
The report will be reviewed on September 10th by the Legislature's Veterans and
Legal Affairs Committee.
Currently, there are casinos located in Bangor and Oxford.
