AUGUSTA, Maine - The Legal and Veterans Affairs Committee is considering a bill
to double the authorized slot machines in Maine from 1,500 to 3,000.
The bill would also remove a restrictions that says slot machine facilities run
by commercial race tracks must be within five miles of those tracks
The anti-gambling group Casinos NO! said it is surprised to see to another bill
to expand slot machines in Maine because voters have repeatedly rejected these
types of ballot measures.
