On Tuesday, Greene County officials declared no to a petition that would allow
for a referendum vote. The petition was in regards to the development of a new
casino, the Wild Rose.
Supporters of the proposed casino state that the project would create 250 jobs.
The same casino development has also been presented to three other counties.
They are Norwalk, Ankeny, and Urbandale. However, the idea was not supported by
any of the counties.
