A ceremony will be held to celebrate a mile stone in the construction of the new Blackbird Bend casino. The ceremony for the final beam signing will be held at the future casino location at noon on Friday June 14th.

It is the Omaha Tribe that are the owners of the casino. The casino will be located 4 miles away from Onawa.

The ceremony is for the final steal beam that will be placed in the construction of the casino. Members of Omaha Tribe, as well as casino board of directors will be in attendance to sign the beam. There will also be a public luncheon.

When the casino is complete, it will operate table games, over 400 slot machines, and a restaurant.

Blackbird Bend Casino is scheduled to open February 14, 2014.
