The riverboat casino, Casino Aztar has a new name. It is now the Tropicana
Evansville. The casino reopened on Tuesday with the change.
This was the first casino for the state. It originally opened in 1995. It was
then sold to Tropicana Entertainment in 2007. Currently the company operates
casinos in six states.
In addition to the name change, a celebration will also be held. It will be
located in the hotel lobby. During the celebration, plans will be announced that
include a nearby building. The building was previously a nightclub.
