After a fire broke out at the Empress Casino in 2009, the pavilion area was
closed. Since that time the area has been given a renovation and is due to open
on December 29. The reopening will also bring the renaming of the hotel to
Decorated in old Hollywood glitz and glam, and 1920's art deco decor. The $60
million pavilion will feature Hollywood memorabilia. It will also host the Final
Cut Steakhouse and a piano bar. Guests can also dine at the 200 seat Epic
Buffet. The buffet will feature a noodle bar with a wide selection of food
options and a variety of ethnic cuisines. A 115 seat sports bar, called the
Hollywood Stadium, will also open. There will be a 20 by 80 foot TV that can
show 9 different screens or 1 large screen for games. Guests can also shop at
the Rodeo Drive gift shop that completes the Hollywood theme.
The casino is planning on hiring over 100 new workers in the next few months.
Many of these positions will be for food service. As of now, there are 750
