Last week the Florida House of Representatives passed a bill that would allow for Vegas style casino games in south Florida. With the casino bill passing its first vote, new bills that would affect businesses related to gaming are starting to appear. The south Florida anti gaming movement has already begun its media campaign against the casinos.

Miami-Dade and Broward counties were included in the casino bill. The counties would be allowed to build three casino resorts that would be similar to those in Las Vegas, NV. The Senate committee passed a vote this morning allowing for a new bill that would regulate the state's internet cafes. Another bill would eliminate those businesses all together, however that bill has not been voted on yet. Stopping the internet cafes would stop any loop holes in Florida's illegal gaming laws.

Originally the bill to allow for casino resorts in south Florida was written as a way to limit the amount of gaming that would be allowed. However, supporters and opposers agree, with the passing of the new law there is possibility for more casinos and gaming throughout the state.
