state's lawmakers. The plan called for three large casinos that would be built
in the Miami area.

made and is not expected to be voted on until after the current session.
If the bill passes, casino developers that have pledged their resorts would cost
at least $2 billion would be granted the gaming licenses. Supporters of the bill
state that the casino projects would jobs in the thousands. However, people
against the bill state that the casinos would hurt the state's image as being
family friendly. Local resorts and dog racing tracks would also lose money due
to the competition.
