COCONUT CREEK, FL - A Boca Raton tennis instructor won a $1,589,193 Jeopardy MegaJackpot at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek on December 8th. Kennis Collins said he was looking for a machine to play when he noticed other players winning. So he sat down and tried a similar machine.
Collins was surprised when he won the million and a half dollar top progressive prize. "I wasn't sure which of the three amounts listed I won. I didn't think it was the big one!"
The new millionaire plans to "pay off debt" and take a long-delayed vacation. "I haven't had one in four years." He will also continue working with his tennis students. "I love teaching tennis."
The Seminole Casino Coconut Creek belongs to a Native American progressive gaming network of more than 300 casinos nationwide. Jackpots accumulate every time a coin is played in a linked machine, anywhere on the network. Last year on July 19 the casino paid $2 million to a winner of IGT's Wheel of Fortune Special Edition progressive.
