PRESS RELEASE
June 15, 2016
Foxwoods® Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $38.4 million for the month
of May 2016. This figure is down 11 percent compared to $43.2 million in May of
2015. Handle for the month was $482.2 million, down 9.4 percent from the $531.9
million wagered in the same month in 2015.
Foxwoods' contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in May 2016 is
$9.8 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods
opened in 1992 to over $3.9 billion.
May was an exciting month at Foxwoods, with a slew of top-tier comedy shows from
some of the world's best comedians including Brian Regan, Wayne Brady, Norm
MacDonald, Chris D'Elia and Trevor Noah. The fun continued with unforgettable
shows from rock group 3 Doors Down and the inimitable Charlie Wilson.
International comedy sensation Louis C.K. capped off the month with two
exclusive shows at The Grand Theater.
May was also Foxwoods Reality TV Month, with stars from Bravo's "Vanderpump
Rules" and "The Real Housewives," ABC's "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette,"
and E!'s "Christina Milian Turned Up," making VIP appearances on property to
meet fans and pose for photos. Christina Milian celebrated Memorial Day weekend
by hosting the season's first Liquid Sundays at the Fox Tower, treating guests
to a wild afternoon at the Northeast's only Vegas-style pool party.
June is off to a groundbreaking start, with Foxwoods making major gaming and
food and beverage announcements that fortify the property's status as the
premier resort destination in the Northeast and beyond. In a game-changing
development, Foxwoods announced that it is adding four new and diverse dining
experiences to its roster including Guy Fieri's Kitchen + Bar at Foxwoods,
Richard Rawlings' GARAGE Bar & Grill, Sugar Factory American Brasserie and Cat
Cora's Wine Bar, a concept created exclusively for the property. The momentum
continued with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation revealing plans to open
Foxwoods Resort Casino at Biloxi Pointe in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The June entertainment lineup is as diverse and deep as ever, featuring upcoming
shows from A-list comedian Cedric the Entertainer, Australia's hottest export,
Thunder From Down Under, renowned magician Michael Carbonaro and the world
premiere of Nik Wallenda's Zirkus, a gravity-defying spectacle that promises to
entertain the whole family.
