On Tuesday, a decision was to be made on the new casino location for the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribes. However, the announcement has been postponed.

The proposed casino project is a joint venture between the two tribes. They formed the company MMCT Venture. The project is also a way to compete with a casino that is planned to be built in Springfield, MA.

On Friday the company announced that more time is needed before the final decision can be made after meeting with city representatives.

Proposed locations are in Hartford, East Hartford, Windsor Locks, and East Windsor. The economic impact of each location is still being evaluated.

Before the casino can be built, legislature must approve it.
