There is a new push to extend liquor laws service hours at Connecticut casinos.

Currently the law requires alcohol sales to end on weekdays at 1 in the morning. Weekends must end by 2 in the morning. However, casinos operate on a 24 hour basis.

Felix Rappaport is the CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino. He is hopeful that the state will be willing to exempt casinos from the current law. He believes the restriction on the service hours is not helping Connecticut casinos stay competitive with the nearby out of state casinos.

New York casinos can serve liquor until 4AM. Alcohol is also offered 24 hours daily at casinos in Atlantic City.

In 2008, there was a push to change the current alcohol service laws for casinos in the state. However, there was no interest in support from legislature to investigate interest.
