There's a new casino in Central City. Johnny Z's opened their doors on June 9th.
This is the newest casino to be built in 4 years. The opening of the new casino
has brought hope to an economic turnaround for local residents.
The property was bought for $725,000 from Las Vegas Palms Casino Owner, George
Maloof. It is the former Central Palace Casino that operated in the 1990s. $5.5
million was spent in renovations.
John Zimple is the owner of the new casino. He named the casino after his 19
year old son, whom works the coffee stand. The casino has a car theme. Orange
vintage casinos welcome guests at the entrance. The casino is 21,00 square feet
and 3 stories tall.
The casino features 200 slot machines and 6 game tables. There is also a
restaurant, a barbecue and smoking deck. As well as 37 flat panel TVs.
