Southern California poker players can win a lot of cash in February at Pala
Casino Spa & Resort when the Poker Room hosts the 12-tournament Pala Winter
Poker Open Feb. 2-10. But more cash also will be available at the Tuesday No
Limit Hold'em Pay or Play (Free Entry) tournaments at 7 p.m. each Tuesday; the
President's Day tournament at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18; the Sunday $5K Nooner
tournaments at noon Sunday, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24; and the Thursday Turbos at 7
p.m., Feb. 21 and Feb. 28. Players also will win money in February Cash
Drawings, the Sunday Early Bird High Hand, the popular and ongoing Chase For the
Dough, the continuing Flush Marathon and the After Hours Flush Marathon.
The first of 12 Winter Poker Open events will be a No Limit Hold'em Championship
tournament at noon Saturday, Feb. 2. Entry will be $100 + $25 + $10 with
30-minute blinds and $10,000 in starting chips. An optional $10 staff
appreciation buy will be available for an additional $3,000 in starting chips.

blinds, $10,000 in starting chips, $4,000 Guarantee. Optional $10 staff buy for
an additional $3,000 in chips. Re-entries for five levels.
The Tuesday NLH Pay or Play (Free Entry) tournaments will be played at 7 p.m.
Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26. The buy-in will be $25 + $5 with a $750 guaranteed prize
pool. Players will start with $3,000 in chips with an optional $5 staff bonus
buy for an additional $1,000 in chips. Blinds will be 20 minutes for the first
three levels and 15 thereafter. Players have the option of earning a FREE ENTRY
with three hours of live play each Tuesday prior to the 7 p.m. start.
The Presidents Day NLH tournament will start at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18. The
buy-in will be $50 + $15 with a $5,000 guarantee. Players will start with $5,000
in chips with an optional $5 staff bonus buy for $2,000 more and a $25 re-buy
will be offered during the first four levels for an additional $3,000 in chips.
Blinds will be 20 minutes with late and re-entries allowed to four levels.
The Sunday $5K Nooner events will be played at noon, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24. But
registration will remain open until 2 p.m. The buy-in will be $50 + $15 with a
$5,000 guarantee. Players will start with $5,000 in chips with an optional $5
staff bonus buy for $2,000 more and a $25 re-buy will be offered during the
first four levels for $3,000 additional chips. Blinds will be 30 minutes for
four levels and 20 thereafter. Late and re-entries for four levels.
The Thursday Turbos will start at 7 p.m., Feb. 21 and Feb. 28. The buy-in will
be $45 + $10 with $1,200 guaranteed. Players will start with $20,000 in chips
with an optional $10 staff bonus buy for $5,000 more. There also will be $10
knockout bounties, which will be included in the prize pool. Blinds will be 12
minutes with late and re-entries to the seventh level.
Players can start earning entries for the February Cash Drawings at 12:01 a.m.
Friday, Feb. 1. Drawings for $150 will be held every hour from noon to 8 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 3 (Super Sunday); Saturday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 23.
Drawings for $150 also will be held from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18.
Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3, also will feature a drawing for a 60-inch Samsung
big-screen TV that will be awarded immediately after the game. Players also can
start earning entries into the TV drawing at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, until 3 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 3. On Super Sunday, the $150 hourly cash drawings will start at
noon and will end with the drawing for the TV. At 3:01 p.m. on Super Sunday,
players can start earning entries for the remaining February Cash Drawings.
A Sunday Early Bird High Hand will be held from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. each Sunday,
Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24. Players will win $50 each hour.
The popular Monthly Chase for the Dough will start at Midnight, Feb. 1 with a
$10,000 prize pool. Players win by accumulating live-play hours. Forty hours
wins $60; 60 hours gets $200 and 80 hours, $400. When players cash out, hours
return to zero.
The Flush Marathon will be in play from Noon to Midnight each Monday and
Wednesday, except Feb. 4, 6, 18 and 27. The first player to receive all four
flushes (each suit) will win $350, the second, $150. A Valentine's Day Flush
Marathon will be held from Noon to Midnight, Thursday, Feb. 14. Four Heart
flushes will win $200 with no limit on winners.
An After Hours Flush Marathon also will be in play from 12:30 a.m. to 6 a.m.
each Saturday. The first player to receive three flushes (different suits) will
win $150.
