The 2,000 team members of Pala Casino Resort and Spa today donated almost 5,000
pounds of food to Brother Benno's, the non-profit, volunteer organization that
serves the poor and homeless in Northern San Diego County.
Pala conducted a food drive that concluded last week and representatives from
Brother Benno's today received 4,739 pounds of food from the casino.
"As our team members have done for so many community projects, they really came
through again to help those in need this holiday season," said Bill Bembenek,
Pala's chief executive.
