PRESS RELEASE
May 20, 2011
Red Hawk Casino, home to some of the most liberal slots and table games in
Northern California, is pleased to announce that it awarded a $95,611 Bad Beat
Jackpot to nine lucky players on Thursday, May 19.
The group of nine avid poker players had only been playing for about a half an
hour when Jerome M. from Diamond Springs, Calif., drew pocket Aces for an Aces
Full hand and thought he had a winning hand. However, Bob S. from Diamond
Springs, Calif., drew four kings and beat him. This qualified the table for Red
Hawk's Bad Beat Jackpot of $95,611! Jerome's "losing" hand earned him the top
cash prize of $47,804, while Bob received $23,902 and the seven remaining
players at the table each walked away with $3,415. A Bad Beat Jackpot is paid
when a sufficiently strong hand is played, but loses to an even stronger hand
held by another player.
The 60-seat poker room is located on the non-smoking level at Red Hawk Casino.
It features Texas Hold 'em limit and no-limit style games with stakes that
accommodate all levels of play. The poker room includes several flat screen TVs
and tableside dining. Red Hawk Casino hosts Texas Hold 'em tournaments daily at
10 a.m. and Sunday through Thursday at 6 p.m.
