When Pala Casino Spa & Resort's new "Infinity" showroom opens at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6 with a FREE Gabriel Iglesias After Party, it will raise the entertainment bar in Southern California.

The San Diego casino already has a host of events planned for the showroom throughout the summer. The season kicks off with Iglesias, the self-proclaimed "I'm not fat, I'm fluffy" funny man, who will perform to a sold-out audience at 8 p.m. at the Starlight Theater.

Formerly the Grand Cabaret, the Infinity will be Southern California's most versatile entertainment venue. With seating for 900, it offers an intimate setting for San Diego concerts and live shows. It's also a nightclub, a party venue, and on Sundays the home of the Infinity Sports Experience. The Sports Experience debuts at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 with 17 high-definition screens for the LIVE telecast of the big horse race in Kentucky, followed at 6 p.m. by the LIVE, closed circuit telecast of the Manny Pacquiao versus Sugar Shane Mosley 12-round title fight for the WBO welterweight championship from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Club Infinity will follow with a DJ mixing the hottest hits, without cover.

"The entertainment possibilities are infinite," said Pala CEO Bill Bembenek. "Infinity will be unlike any other entertainment venue in San Diego County. This 10,000-square-foot room will have a high-end delay audio system, 17 giant HD video screens to give it the feel of a Las Vegas sports book, and state-of-the-art concert lighting."

Infinity also hosts the weekly Service Industry Nights (S.I.N.) starting Thursday, May 12 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests in the service industry enjoy the hottest nightlife without cover and specials including VIP bottle service upon request, room discounts, giveaways, free food, LIVE Blackjack play, and exclusive DJ hosts.
