SACRAMENTO - The final iron beams will be placed into position next week to
complete the metal structure of the new Foothill Oaks Casino. The casino is
being built by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians. It is about 30 minutes
east of Sacramento and scheduled to open late this year.
Vice Chairman of the tribe, John Tayaba said "The last iron piece will go in
February 26th."
Chairman Nicholas Fonseca added, "We'll go up there and celebrate. It's the last
piece for the frame."
The construction project is on schedule and proceeding as planned. Framing has
also begun on the overpass spanning U.S. Highway 50. It is scheduled for
completion in October.
