Loan documents were signed last week by the Navajo Nation and Navajo Gaming
Enterprises for the construction of class 2 casinos. The loan is for $5.3
million. Of that money, $3.5 million will go towards the Tse Daa K'aan casino
project to be built near the chapter house, 25 miles from Farmington. $2 million
will go to the construction of the Chinle casino, to be located in the shopping
Class 2 casinos allow for electronic Bingo gaming machines. Visitors will be
able to play at games with a slot machine feel. However to the odds of winning
will be similar to traditional bingo games.
October 1 is the estimated opening date for the Tse Daa H'aan casino. Currently
Chinle is planned to open sometime between October 15 to November 01.
