Legislation is about to be introduced to the Alabama Senate over allowing
casinos and a lottery.
On Tuesday, Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh announced his plan. He believes
that gaming would help generate money for Alabama. The state is in need of
finding new was of earning revenue. He also believes that the gaming issue
should be decided on by the people in the state.
In his plan, four dog tracks would host the casino gaming. They would be located
in Mobile, Birmingham, and Greene and Macon Counties.
For the measure to be approved, three fifths of the state's legislators would
have to be in favor. As well as have voter approval.
