Donation applications from nonprofits in Arizona are being accepted by Gila River Hotels & Casinos. The casino is working on donating jackpots that have not been claimed over the year.
Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino, Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, and Lone Butte Casino have all had unclaimed funds.
Nonprofits in the state that have been recognized by the IRS with a 501(c)(3) status are encouraged to apply.
Every year nonprofits have received a portion of the jackpots that have not been claimed. The exact amount of money that is given away has not been released by Gila River Hotels & Casinos.
However, more charities will be able to be helped this year by the casino.
Organizations that would like to apply must send a letter of consideration, a w-9 that is signed and current, as well as a 501(c)(3) IRS letter.
The Gila River Hotels & Casinos finance department will be distributing the money from the unclaimed jackpots.
All applications must be submitted by August 18.
