Vallejo Casino Project

The Vallejo casino project would cost $700 million to build a 400,000-square-foot gaming complex with a casino, hotel, spa, restaurants, and a family entertainment center featuring a movie theater, arcade and bowling alley. See news video of casino plan.

The Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians filed an application in January 2016 with the U.S. Department of Interior to transfer 128 acres of land near I-80 and Highway 37 into federal trust for reservation status. In August 2016 the tribe filed a second application with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to build a casino on that land.

Both applications were rejected by U.S. Department of Interior on Feb. 7, 2019. The Scotts Valley tribe filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in D.C. against the decision on May 24, 2019.
