$129,500 Wheel of Fortune winner at Menominee Casino

May 01, 2009

KESHENA, WI – A retired welder from Pound, Wisconsin , won $129,500 at the Menominee Casino last Saturday when he hit a Wheel of Fortune® quarters MegaJackpot®. This is the first MegaJackpot prize paid at the casino so far this year. The casino has now paid over $6.3 million in MegaJackpot prize money since 1995.

The winner was Robert Ermis, who said he was at the casino for a “night out.” He had earlier played another machine near the winning Wheel of Fortune quarters game. “I had played the machine to the far right… and had done okay, so we came back after eating and the middle machine was the only one open, so I played it” he said.

After playing only $20 on the winning machine, Ermis said he was shocked to find he had won the top progressive prize. “”I first thought I had won 3,000 quarters. Then my daughter said I had won. I was so excited, I could hardly get my wallet out!” Ermis said.

When asked about plans for his winnings, Ermis said he plans to “share it with family” adding, “I will probably enjoy retirement a little better.”

The Menominee Casino is one of 300 Indian casino that belong to a Native American progressive gaming network.
