Chehalis Tribe Opens $100 Million Great Wolf Lodge

March 24, 2008

The Chehalis Tribe will open its new $100 million Great Wolf Lodge this week in Grand Mound, Washington, just off I-5 north of Centralia. It features a resort, conference center, and indoor water park.

Great Wolf Lodge is non-casino business venture between the Chehalis Tribe, who own the Lucky Eagle Casino, and Great Wolf Resorts of Madison, Wisconsin. The tribe is diversifying beyond casinos to appeal to a larger population and reduce its susceptibilities to changes in the gambling industry.

"I don't want us to just be a gaming tribe," said Dave Burnett, chairman of the Chehalis Tribe. "I want us to diversify."
