BETHLEHEM, PA - The new $743 million Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is scheduled to open to the public on May 22nd in time for Memorial Day weekend. The grand opening will be June 9th.

The casino will feature 3,000 slot machines with plans to add 2,000 more in the future. There will be a celebrity chef steak house, a 24-hour Cafe, a marketplace featuring a wide selection of cuisines, and an Irish pub. The resort is located on the former site of the Bethlehem Steel plant.

Future plans will add a 300-room hotel, with rooms modeled after those at the Las Vegas Palazzo Resort, and a National Museum of Industrial History, SteelStax. There will also be 200,000 square feet of retail space and 50,000 square feet of multi-purpose space for meetings, conventions, and special events
